Titles for Sky Sports' coverage of the 2021 Lions Tour; Where I was responsible for leading the CG of this project, developing a strategy and workflow for generative locations and simulated characters within data-driven environments.
3D models of the iconic Springbok and Lion were converted to a tessellated, procedural style, fitted with metallic gold, crystalline glass and an architectural frame that detatches in motion. The individual shapes and shards moves with atmospheric demands, and utilise separate 'trail simulation' passes to exaggerate the delay and hover in how they react to the underlying model.
South Africa and the United Kingdom's environments use GIS data before being tessellated, where a hierarchy of other tessellated props populate the world around the characters.
